Lead R&D Composite Process Engineer
We are recruiting a Lead R&D Composite Process Engineer for a permanent role in France.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join our client as they expand their capabilities in high‑performance composites and motorsport engineering.
As a result, they are looking for a Lead Composite Process Development Engineer to guide new projects and bring R&D and advanced composite parts from concept, through to prototype and production. Backed by a considerable internal budget, this is an incredible opportunity to bring the client’s R&D through to production.
What You will Be Doing
Based in the design team. You will be working to deliver bring R&D projects into production. Backed by a significant budget for this, you will be:
- Responsible for the Composite Process Development of R&D, prototypes, etc.
- Expected to define and optimise the composite production processes
- Required to support and guide the manufacturing of prototypes in the workshop
- Creating manufacturing documentation for in‑house & outsourced parts, updating in real time where necessary
- Developing plybooks (2D/3D), trimming & bonding instructions
- Designing tooling: carbon/aluminium molds, trimming & bonding jigs
- Participating in tooling design validation
- Working closely with suppliers to ensure the quality levels are met and partnerships are nurtured
What our client is looking for
You will have a track record in leading the process of bringing prototypes and R&D components into production
Your knowledge of composites and manufacturing processes will ideally be from motorsport, or other high value composite sectors
We would expect you to have a relevant Engineering degree
You will need to be a solution seeker, whilst innovative, remain detail orientated, practical and solution driven.
You will be able to build, develop and nurture relationships with colleagues in other departments as well as suppliers
Proficiency in CATIA V5
Ideally fluent in both French & English (English essential)
