CAD CAM Programmer
Pegbox is recruiting experienced CAD/CAM Programmers to join our new client on an permanent positions based in the East of England.
These are exceptional opportunities to work on exclusive, bespoke and top-class automotive projects.
Main responsibilities:
- As the CAD/CAM Programmer, you will be responsible for the programming of the 3 and 5 axis CNC Centres. This is for the manufacturing prototypes, first offs, limited edition or production runs of tooling and high value components.
- The vast majority of materials will be aluminium, but a good understanding of carbon fibre and other composite materials would be a plus.
- If you are familiar with other materials such as plastics, stainless steel, titanium and more, it would also be an advantage.
Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- As the CAD/CAM Programmer, you will also be expected to use your CAD skills to draw fixtures for one off or productions runs solutions.
- As a key member of staff, you will work closely with the shop floor to help streamline the machining process. You will assist the in-house design team with feedback on machining feasibility of complex components and tooling.
- You will assist the in-house training program by training apprentices and other team members when required
Experience required:
- You will have demonstrable experience working as a CAD/CAM programmer. Your experience will be gained from a precision engineering environment.
- Your background will be from areas such as automotive, aerospace, motorsport or equivalent.
- You will have expert knowledge of aluminium machining, and ideally others such as carbon fibre, etc.
Software requirement
Our client uses Hypermill and HyperCAD software.
- If you want to apply to work for as a contractor, will be expected to know this software.
- If you apply to the permanent position, you will receive training if required. You will have experience with other software to qualify for training.
